Akalore Kennel (formerly Vanguard and KasteWar) is committed to promoting the working American Pit Bull Terrier through preservation and perseverance. Our mission is to promote the health and temperament of the American Pit Bull Terrier while preserving work ethic and ability. True preservation is a broad term which encompasses the entirety of the dog and breed. Meaning we cannot sacrifice one for another. Thus, we are passionate about our program and the approach to produce animals that are mentally and physically sound and stable. We strive to ensure healthy, long lived lives for our dogs of which are capable of a variety of sporting events or simply your next pet.
We are a small hobbyist kennel located in North-Central Georgia, USA. We began our passion as KasteWar Kennel in July 2013 and underwent a name change in January of 2019 to Vanguard Kennel. After some life changes and unfortunate circumstances, we have arrived at Akalore Kennel. Akalore combines the initials of myself and my significant other (A-Ka) and "lore" was inspired by a close friend of ours. "You're writing your story", he said, "Sure it's through dogs but your heart and passion is still there", said another. It made perfect sense for the mission we aim to achieve. We are very much writing our own story which will be foretold through our dedication to our dogs and their success.
